Born and raised in Punjab, India, Guntaj Deep Singh is a self-taught visual artist, photographer and filmmaker in whose work conventional and modern visual mediums work together in an aesthetic marriage of image & emotion - sliced from material both expository- the physical & social context in which he operates & the emotional- a more reflective and philosophical dimension. In his eyes, the purest form of art emerges from emotions, the proof that we are conscious & living, which constantly reflects in his artistic expression aiming to convey the distinctiveness of consciousness as experienced in immediate fragments during our lives- inducing conversations around culture, parallelism & the human condition in post-modern society.

Guntaj has painted a mural for the city, exhibited in art festivals and galleries, starred in local films and his directorial debut short 'Bedard | ਬੇਦਰਦ ' is now doing a festival run around the world. He also exhibited his work from his photographic series 'Openly. | ਸ਼ਰੇਆਮ ' at the Salt Spring National Art Prize exhibition 2023-24.
